Natural healing, medium mineralized, hydrogen-carbonated, magnesium-calcic, with a higher concentration of magnesium and fluorine, slightly acidic, thermal hot, hypotonic with the total mineralization 1,508 – 1,514 mg/l and the temperature from 38 up to 47 °C. The thermal water, rich in mineral salts, has proven healing effects on locomotive system and urinary, neurologic, and gynecological problems. The high contents of calcium, magnesium and fluorine are used also for drinking cures as prevention against osteoporosis, multiple types of kidney stones, gall bladder problems and intestinal diseases.

VELKA FATRA (3 stars): After an extensive reconstruction completed in 2006, all the rooms have been equipped with modern comfortable custom-made furniture. In each room there is a TV set with satellite reception, radio, telephone, and a separate sanitary facility equipped with a bath or a shower unit, hair dryer, and a mini bar. Most rooms have balconies and there is Internet access available in the hotel. There are also two suites in the hotel for very demanding clients. Doctor’s practices, a thermal pool, a fitness centre, and therapy and rehabilitation rooms are all under one roof. The spa Turcianske Teplice belongs to the oldest and best known spa towns in the Europe. The first written text known to mention its existence refers back to 1281 when King Ladislaus IV the Cuman donated the territory, rich in thermal springs, to Count Peter. The healing effects of the thermal mineral water were keenly sought after by monarchs, noblemen, and by subjects of the lords. In 1423, King Zigmund of Luxemburg, attended by his entourage, tried the healing and regenerative effects of these springs.
